Geyser Ecotar A Universal Multi-Component Iron and Hardness Removal Media

Geyser Ecotar A is a universal multi-component ion-exchange filter media engineered for comprehensive water purification from wells, boreholes, and shallow pipelines. Formulated explicitly with a balanced blend of food-grade ion exchange resins , this highly efficient media acts simultaneously to remove hardness salts, dissolved and colloidal iron, manganese, and organic compounds. It provides a predictable and cost-effective single-vessel solution for domestic, cottage, and industrial water treatment installations facing high organic loading and severe water discoloration.

This advanced multi-component media incorporates eight distinct functional components , including fine-mesh black cation exchange resins , a high-capacity anion organo-absorber (organic scavenger) , and a protective top inert layer. The combination of varying bead sizes maximizes the bulk density and active packing surface area within the column , enhancing contaminant contact and delivering double the operating efficiency compared to standard monodisperse or single-bed resins. Ecotar A targets difficult yellow-brown well waters characterized by high permanganate oxidation (PMA) and complex iron-organic structures , stabilizing treated water quality across its extended lifespan without requiring raw water pH correction. The built-in inert layer actively prevents control valve contamination and mechanical fouling. The complete composite bed undergoes simple and economical regeneration using a standard sodium chloride (NaCl) tablet brine solution without needing toxic chemical reagents.

Removal Capabilities:

  • Total Hardness Removal: Effectively extracts scale-forming calcium (Ca²⁺) and magnesium (Mg²⁺) ions to eliminate hard scale buildup and protect plumbing systems.

  • Complex Iron and Manganese Reduction: Captures all chemical forms of iron—including dissolved ferrous, insoluble oxidized rust, colloidal, and organic-bound iron complexes —alongside divalent manganese.

  • Organic Matter Absorption: Functions as an intensive organic scavenger, rapidly reducing high natural organic matter (NOM), humic acids, fulvic acids, and overall water color.

  • Ammonium Retention: Securely traps organic decomposition byproducts and dissolved ammonium ions from shallow water sources.

Please note: For source waters with high iron content (> 10 ppm) or persistent rust accumulation, the regular use of an antibacterial resin cleaner during regeneration is recommended to wash out oxidized compounds and extend media service life. To ensure precise equipment design and filtration profiling, a professional water analysis is highly recommended.
