AKV PP Sediment Filter 4.5" x 20" 5 mic for Big Blue

A high-capacity replacement filter element designed for heavy-duty mechanical filtration in whole-house and high-flow industrial systems. Manufactured from 100% pure melt-blown polypropylene, this Big Blue cartridge captures suspended solids, sand, silt, rust, and dirt particles down to 5 microns, protecting downstream water treatment equipment and plumbing systems from premature clogging.

Featuring a true gradient-density multi-layer structure, the large-diameter cartridge delivers exceptional dirt-holding capacity and ultra-low pressure drop at high flow rates. Outer layers trap larger debris while the inner core retains micro-particulates, ensuring uniform depth filtration across the entire media volume. Free from chemical binders and solvents, it operates reliably across standard operating pressures and temperatures as a heavy-duty primary sediment barrier.

Removal Capabilities:

  • Sediment Filtration: Traps microscopic insoluble particles down to 5 microns, including rust flakes and fine sediment.

  • Suspended Solids Reduction: Retains high volumes of sand, silt, clay, and soil particles from municipal or well water supplies.

  • Equipment Protection: Prevents physical blockage of whole-house softening resins, iron-removal media, and delicate downstream filters.

  • Turbidity Elimination: Significantly reduces water cloudiness and mechanical haziness to deliver clear pre-filtered water throughout the facility.
