Please note: Adhere strictly to controlled startup sequences to protect the membrane elements against hydraulic shock and overfeeding. Gradually raise the inlet water pressure over 30 to 60 seconds, and allow 15 to 20 seconds to establish operating flow rates. Discard all permeate produced during the first hour of operation. Keep the element continuously moist after initial wetting, and maintain zero backpressure on the permeate line at all times. For shutdowns exceeding 72 hours, preserve the membrane in an approved chemical preservative solution to prevent microbiological contamination.
